Francisco Laranjo is a graphic designer based in London. He runs his own studio since completing an MA in Communication Art & Design at the Royal College of Art, London.

Before that, after finishing a BA in Communication Design at ESAD (Portugal), Francisco worked in Porto as a freelancer for a wide range of cultural clients and in New York (USA) at Sagmeister Inc..

His work focuses on printed matter as well as writing and design criticism. His writings have been published in magazines such as ARC, Bypass, Pli, the London Design Festival blog and in the books Design – Critical Readings (Labcom) and A Nervous Nap – On expanding the field of design (Foundation Bec Zmiana).

Francisco teaches Communication Design at the University of Westminster, Richmond University (London) and has been a visiting lecturer at the Sandberg Institute (NL) and ESAD (PT). He is currently a PhD student at the London College of Communication, undertaking a practice-led research exploring the role of design criticism in the graphic design process.
